Obituary of Rose M. Gemmell

Rose Marie Licciardone Gemmell, Age 76, Died on Tuesday February 23 at her home 538 Harrison Ave, South Plainfield. Born in Scranton PA, Rose grew up in Old Forge, PA and Elizabeth NJ prior to settling to South Plainfield in 1966. Rose enjoyed being surrounded by family especially on Sundays when she cooked her homemade Italian dinners. Rose also enjoyed listening to Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and Il Volo and other golden oldies while enjoying a glass of burgundy wine. She cherished her time with her family on vacation at Ortley Beach. Rose was most proud of her five children, whom she raised as a single mother. Not only did she have love for her children, she opened her heart and home to all of their friends, her nieces and nephews, and was like a mother to all of them. She is predeceased by her sister and best friend, Grace DeCillis, who passed in July 2014, her mother Carmella Licciardone and her father Louis Licciardone. Rose is survived by her children Linda Liebman and long time companion, Joe Wyatt, George Gemmell and his wife Joanie, Patricia Butrico and her husband Pete, Rose Gemmell, and Renee Eggert and her husband Eddie; and her brother Dominick Licciardone and her sister Johanna Butta and her husband Alfred. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Kyle, Laura, Markie, Angela, Mark, Julie, Peter, Anthony and Connor and her great grandchildren Benjamin and Seanie. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 10Am in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080. Cremation Services will follow privately. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
