Obituary of Grace E. Stark
Please share a memory of Grace to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
South Plainfield - Grace E. Stark, 88, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.
Born in New York City, Grace grew up in the towns of Nutley and Belleville settling in South Plainfield in 1957, where she and her late husband, Jacque, raised their family.
Grace enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in her backyard, and has even cared for pets such as dogs, an owl, and even a baby squirrel. She also hand fed many of the neighborhood squirrels and chipmunks that would visit her kitchen door every day. She will always be remembered by her family and friends as being the strongest, most kind-hearted and hard-working woman, with an enormous heart unlike any other in this world; a woman who truly lived up to her name by living her life with beauty and grace, and a selflessness admired by all who knew and loved her.
She was the best Mommy to all of her children and the most wonderfully loving, silly and fun Grandma her grandchildren could have ever asked for.
Grace was also a very big fan of "The Walking Dead", which made her the coolest Grandma ever, and she loved to watch old western movies. It is hard to put into words, the amount of strength that was inside Grace, except maybe to say that she conquered each hardship she experienced in life with such determination and courage; she never complained or stopped loving life, she just continued on with a smile and her unprecedented strength. We will never forget her, and we will always miss her.
Grace is predeceased by her soul mate and husband, Jacque, who died in 2002; three sons, Robert, John and Glen Stark; her grandson, Daniel Innes, her granddaughter Stevie Lia Stark and her beloved dog, Harley Stark.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Innes and her husband, Russell, of South Plainfield; son, Gary Stark, of Edison; her grandchildren, Michael Innes and fiance Tiffany Ogrodnik, Jacqueline Innes, Derek and Adrienne Stark, and Gary and Vincent Stark; and her dear daughters-in-law Kathy Stark and Cindy Stark.
