Obituary of Caroline Scholl

North Plainfield - Caroline Scholl 93, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at Berkley Heights Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation in Berkley Heights. Caroline was born the youngest of four children to the union of John and Emma Conrad, in Newark. While a freshman at East Side High School, she baked an upside down cake during the Youth Week Celebration and won the First Place Award in Baking. She entered into night school to learn the art of cake decorating and upon graduation, she was always asked to make cakes for family and friends. After her children graduated high school, Caroline worked for Hahne & Company for fifteen years before retiring. She was a member of the Wolff Memorial Presbyterian Church in Newark. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph, of 50 years who died in 1986; and son, Thomas J., who died in 2015. Surviving are her daughter; Joann Scholl of North Plainfield; daughter in law, Theresa of Edison; six grandchildren, Debbie Dennis, Chris, Roger, John and Kevin and seven great grandchildren, Brooke, Trevor, Bridget, Brittany, Brandon, Emily and Ronin. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 10AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 Family and friends may attend visitation on Monday from 5-9PM in the funeral home.
