Middlesex, NJ - Panagis M. Chionis, 75, known to everyone as Peter, passed away at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Somerset in Somerville on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Peter was born in Cephalonia, Greece and moved to Middlesex in 1960. Since 1965, he was the proud owner of Frank Larsen Green House (now called Lincoln Avenue Florist, owned by his son Tim.) He had a love for all of his customers that he grew to know throughout the years. Peter was a member of St. George He was an avid poker player, and if the tables could talk, they sure could tell some stories. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Victoria who died in January of 2010 and by his brother; Pavlos Hionis. Peter is survived by his loving children; Themios "Tim" of Middlesex and Maria Gaito and her husband Phillip of Green Brook, his dear siblings; brothers Dennis and Spiros Hionis and sisters Dina Hionis, Roxanni Souvanous and Marianthi Hionis. He will be deeply missed by his two adored grandchildren Alysabeth and Elaina Gaito and by his cat stinky. Visitation will take place in Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 8:30 am until 9:00 am. Services will begin 9:00 am in the funeral home Thursday, March 24, 2016 with a 10:00 am Funeral Service to follow at St. George Greek Orthodox Church on River Road in Piscataway. Peter will be laid to rest beside his wife at Bound Brook Cemetery in Bound Brook.
