Dear Gary and the Family of Iris Fasano, I was deeply saddened to read of your mother's recent passing. I have so many fond and vivid memories of Iris and still think of her (and you) often over all these many years. She was full of passion,good humor,and a real zest for life.She exuded genuine warmth and made everyone feel welcome. From 1971 through 1975, we enjoyed phone calls, friendly visits, tennis matches, good conversation, and most of all laughter. To me, she was a true Renaissance woman who was extremely gifted in so many ways. She seemed to welcome a challenge and then excelled at whatever she put her mind to.I especially admired her athleticism; she was an inspiration. George (husband) remembers Iris asking us to "sign" a table(coffee ?) with a "burning knife" (pyrographic utensil) for posterity. During the same visit she also introduced us to "petrified fruit" with instructions on how to make it.George continues to make it and we continue to enjoy it to this day! I will cherish her memory and her friendship always. She will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences.
