Kingwood Township - Walter J. Zacek, Sr., 55, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Hunterdon Regional Medical Center in Flemington, NJ.
Born in Plainfield, Walter grew up in South Plainfield, he resided in Flemington before settling to Kingwood two years ago.
A proud member of UA Local 24 Plumbers of West Caldwell, Walter enjoyed working with his hands. He also enjoyed welding stained glass, fixing cars, woodworking and barbequing for his family and friends.
If there was something that needed to be fixed, Walter was quick to "Zacek - ify" any project with duct tape and WD - 40.
Predeceased by his mother, Jeanie (O'Neill) and two brothers, Charles and Andrew, surviving are his two sons, Walter Jr. and Matthew Zacek; father, William Zacek; fiancée, Wendy Farley; two nieces, Danielle and Katie Jean and a host of extended relatives.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 6-9PM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.
Cremation will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Walter's memory the American Heart Society, www.heart.org.
