Carmella was born in 1949, and was twenty in 1969, a very turbulent time. Born several years later, I did not know Carmella well. I did enjoy her father and mother, my godparents, and enjoyed their whole family. Lots of fun and memories. I was leaving for missionary service in Colombia with my wife and two small children. Uncle Angelo told me, "If you ever cannot get home, let me know, and I will get you home." We were in Latin America for fifteen years and never needed that help, but I always treasured those tender words.

As a new resident in Carmella's apartment building, Carmella would always greet me so warmly as we passed each other- with a smile, by my name, and always with a sincere and hearty "God Bless You"
She was always strong, in so many ways, including in spirit. Many people, including me, will sorely miss her.
