Linden - Carmella M. Cortese, 68, died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at home.
Born in Plainfield to the late Angelo and Mary (Appravato) Cortese, Carmella was raised in Scotch Plains and recently settled to Linden.
A bookkeeper for many years, Carmella was a religious woman, she belonged to various churches in the Linden and Newark area.
Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Hartpence and husband Scott of Toms River; siblings, Angela Sztuk and husband Frank and Ralph Cortese and a host of extended relatives.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 4-6PM in the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.
