Steve Gorski posted a condolence
Thursday, October 7, 2021
From the very early hours of October 7 as as I laid my head to sleep, I was gently awoken what seemed like every 15 minutes, with thoughts of Frank.
His acceptance of all people, his dedication to running which is more reflective of the person he always was than the sport itself, his forever generosity, his extraordinary love for every single member of his entire family, my personal witness to his dedication and execution as a fireman, and perhaps most of all, his extraordinary and undeniable human and love relationship with his wife Sharon, is just the smallest list of treasures, these thoughts that filled my mind this sleepless night.
At 6 AM, I found myself no longer able to lay my head in sleep. I discovered the good Lord has eternally embraced and summoned home this extraordinary man to a place of peace with such joy.
Indeed a spiritual notice, perhaps by Frank, that he is in the presence of the Lord. The difference he will forever make in this world will carry-on forever. Amen, Brother Frank.

Wow—- so sorry for your loss. Frank was a good friend back in the day when I lived in Elizabeth him and I would ride our motorcycles together thru the Holland tunnel just making noise. I’ve been living in Florida for the past 36 years and didn’t have any touch with him.
Frank was a good friend and a good man.
Rest In Peace!

It's such a bitter sweet having to say goodbye to a man who influenced so many people, simply because of his unconditional character towards everyone. There will be so much missed about you Frank, Red, Pop, Dad. You will forever be part of us and never forgotten. I'm thankful for being part of the amazing family you created and fortunate to have learned so much from you. Rest easy Pop we'll take it from here.

It is with great sadness that we say good bye to our friend and brother. Our prayers go out to our sister Sharon. We thank you Sharon for being the rock of the Macnab family and looking after, and protecting, Red as he progressed through the various illnesses that took him from us.
I still remember Red, that All County football player for Jefferson and you the Cheerleader on the sidelines. I remember going out with Red on his BSA motorcycle, and when he let me try it, I almost crashed. The “Good Times” on the “Island” and the nights at Spirito’s. There are so many memories and they are all good.
Our hearts go out to the kids and grandkids. We thank them all for the support they gave you both and are so sorry for the loss that they must feel. The Macnab family and the Whyte family have lost a husband, father, grandfather and friend. The Elizabeth Fire Department has lost a hero.

So very sorry to hear that Red passed away. Although we didn’t stay in touch over the years some of my earliest memories as a little girl was spending time at the Macnab house! I’m happy I got to see Sharon and Red a few years ago when they were in Florida! My thoughts and prayers are with you all! Bonnie Jean Whyte Cannedy

Always like a second dad to myself, and the countless friends that followed Kevin and Kenny home, way back when. Your character was second to none. And you put your neck out for many of us when most would have just turned their backs. I will always be thankful to you and to Mrs. M for your kindness, your generosity and your humility. Godspeed Mr. M. Your lasting legacy may always be your unknowing just how much you inspired some of us to always be better overall individuals. Hope to catch up with you on the other side.

What can we say about Frank? From the first minute we came to the original house. You were unloading our car before we even got out. You were there to help us fix up the place. You were our eyes and ears during Sandy and the rebuild. And again you were there to help us.
So many good years of friendship, being a mentor. Helping each other when the jobs needed an extra set of hands. The laughter, the good natured joking. Sharing Holidays and the life at the Jersey Shore.
Rest easy my friend, you set the example.
For our adopted family, there are no words that will take the sting of his passing away. Just know, we will be here for you, as you have been here for us.
With our love and condolences to all the Macnabs. Dave and Jane Cassiere
