Ironically, just this week I got to thinking of Betty....she was my very best friend, thru Kindergarten to 8th grade, in Arbor, N.J...and decided to look her up...stunned to see her recent obituary...Betty was beautiful, inside and out, we spent all our grammar school days, together..I still have the black/white booklets we each wrote in, number how may birds, trees, flowers, animals, we would see thru the day....We sent for a book called, The Wonder of Living Things.....it came with a small microscope...we would keep all these in a tiny alcove she had next to her and Marvel's bedroom....our great joy was in discovering.....she played at our home, I played at hers......each spring her dad would drive up and Betty and Alva would climb into the back of the car, and ride into Plainfield to shop for their spring clothes for school....I believe that was also done each autumn......
Betty was so intelligent, I heard knew she wanted to become a nurse....with her beauty and brains she would have become the best nurse ever......
After graduation, Betty had to continue her education at Dunellen High, while I was bused to Metuchen High....we lost touch, but I never forgot her.....I still have the 1951 Dunellen High School Year book, mainly because of her, though I did know others, also...
My heart is with all her wonderful family.....I was so fortunate to have had Betty for my best friend, all those early years....
With love and dear memories, Michele Cameron Caywood, Sardis, Ohio.

Betty was so sweet and so strong. We loved having her in our Presbyterian Women's Bible Study group and were glad she could join us last year in our virtual study. We miss her and will not forget her.

I will always treasure the days I sat with Betty in her yard.
I enjoyed listening as she reminisced about all the good times they had around the pool with family and friends.
As we sat the deer would approach and I was amazed how they trusted Betty. She was a bright light in everyone's life. I even named a deer after her!
We will miss her very much here in Edison.
Love and prayers to her wonderful family.
Sincerely,
Marge and Family
