My Father, Harold Roddin, was a good friend of Mario's and spent many nights sitting in Medici's Restaurant when he was renting a room across the street. So many stories were told about those nights and he actually met his wife, Lois, right there at the bar. Many years later we visited Murphy's Style Grille in Red Bank with my Dad, my husband and kids and he was so surprised to see my Dad. They talked for hours and we visited many times after that. He was a wonderful friend and we still talk about the stories they told.

I was a frequent customer of Mario's South Plainfield Restaurant. His Caesar Salad was wonderful. I actually learned how to make it at home. What a treat Saturday nights were are Medici's. Rest In Peace Mario.

My name is also Mario Medici and I would like to share a memory. My wife and I were in Red Bank just once and had dinner at Murphy's. I thought it odd that an Italian would own a restaurant named Murphy's so I thought I would have to check it out. When we arrived at the restaurant, I introduced myself with my given name, Mario Medici (no middle initial). Mario could not believe it and thought I was joking. I took out my driver's license and showed him I was really Mario Medici whereupon, he escorted us to a very nice table in a very crowded restaurant. Living about 60 miles north of Red Bank, we never made it back to the restaurant but I didn't forget Mario and what a nice, gracious man he was. Rest in peace, Mario. P.S.: I don't know if we are related, but I enclose a picture take several years ago.

To Mario's family, Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences on Mario's passing. It was our pleasure to know Mario and it was our honor to be counted among Mario and Marge's many friends. John describes Mario as a stand-up guy. Jane counts Mario as one of those people who you remember with a smile. We love both Mario and Marge - they will live forever in our hearts and yours. We're attaching a couple of photos of Mario and Marge, along with a picture of the painting Mario gave Jane the last time we saw each other.
