Obituary of Stefano Sarullo

South Plainfield  - Stefano Sarullo, 85, died Sunday, February 4, 2024 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

 

Born and raised in Elizabeth and Rahway, Stefano was a talented Brick Layer for Local 18 in Elizabeth until his retirement.  He met his beloved wife, Virginia ( nee Puntorno ) and the pair settled to South Plainfield 56 years ago, to raise their family of five. 

 

An honorable discharged veteran of the United States Army, Stefano had the opportunity to play baseball on the US Army team in Germany.  His love for baseball and the NY Yankees was passed along to his children as well as to his grandchildren.  Stefano enjoyed traveling with his wife as well as sharing time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

 

Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Sarullo and three siblings Michael Sarullo, Giuseppe Sarullo and Gerry Miragliotta; surviving are his wife of 60 years, Virginia Sarullo; three children, Cathi Rosky, Stephen Sarullo and wife Jacqueline and Michael Sarullo and wife Lisa and brother, Robert Wheelan.

 

He will also be missed by his ten grandchildren, great grandson and a host of extended family and friends.

 

Visitation will be held in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 1-4PM, funeral services will begin at 3:30PM.

 

Cremation will be private.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations have been requested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,  www.stjude.org
