Obituary of Lottie Stella Murray

Lottie Stella Murray, 98, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, NJ.

Born in Newark to the late John and Mary Kopystenski, Lottie resided in Hillside for many years. In 1951, she married her late husband, James, and the two settled in Middlesex in 1958, where she has resided since.

Lottie was employed by National Starch Corp. as a Human Resources Representative, and retired 28 years ago.

An active parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish in Middlesex, Lottie was a Former President of the Alter Rosary Society and served as a church lector for mass. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, and volunteered for F.I.S.H. Lottie also looked for every opportunity to volunteer within, and around the Church.

Predeceased by her husband James Murray, in 2002, daughter Colleen Murray, in 2005, and siblings, Joseph, Matthew, Josephine, and Jean, Lottie is survived by her son Keith Murray and his wife Tracy; grandchildren, Patrick Murray and his wife Donielle, and Amanda Basile and her husband Russell; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Lennox, Carmine, Luca, Angelo, Gia, and Winter, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM.

A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ, on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 12:30 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home prior to mass, beginning at 11:30 AM.

Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, 899 E. Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, the Murray family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Lottie’s name.
