I'll never forget my first trip to Wildwood with the American Legion. I had lost my husband the February before so I still felt out of place without him. There were a lot of younger Legion members going at that time. Russ was one of them and he was always joking around. They coxed me to join a group of them heading out to bar hop (they had been out most of the day already). We walked to a near by bar, having a few drinks and Russ came out with a comment none of us will forget. Joking around he said loudly " I'm gonna throw all of the Marines into the dupster along with the coleslaw." The bartender and many others there were Marines. Needless to say we left there very quickly. Everytime I think of him, I remember the coleslaw. He was always joking and I'm sure he will be dearly missed.

I was so sorry to hear of Russ's passing. I was actually shocked. I did not realize he was ill, since I had not been going to the American Legion or the Italian American Club much lately. He was always joking around and would help anyone who needed it. My condolences to your family.

To The Dilley, Russell was a great person, who I had the privilege of having a great friendship over the years. He was a wonderful classmate who could always make you laugh and smile. He was kind , funny, and outgoing. I've always enjoyed talking with him online and joking about who's hockey team was better. I'm gonna miss those conversations. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this most difficult time. May Russell Rest In Peace.

We all have different journeys Different paths along the way We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay... Our destination is a place far greater than we know For some the journey's quicker, for some the journey's slow...rest in peace my friend. We will never forget your smiling face.
